Not paginated, [44]pp., 4to, stapled, not bound, inc. front (= title with author) and back cover, one page inserted (sellotape) with carbon copy of poem ("Limitations | Prologue") with inking of three faint letters, foxed, cover heavily. This production (purpose unknown - perhaps a dummy run) contains substantially fewer poems than the published work (blue wraps, 61pp.). Both editions start with "Spoken to a Bronze Head", and the same subject headings are in both (Words, People, Self, Death, and Creatures) but ansentees from the duplicated typescript include "Before Whose Time?, "In Old Days", "Has it not all been said"; four poems in the published "People"; several in "Self" and othersd in "Death" and "Creatures". The typescript includes pooems which do not appear in the published version, including "Remembering Venice", "St Stephen" "Because by Man came Death". No linear comparison has been made to record any changes within poems that appear in both editions. No other copy of the typescript has been traced.
