4pp., 12mo. Bifolium. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. The letter begins: 'it was such a delight to my daughter & myself to hear your beautiful songs last evening that we wish such a happiness was possible for us very often - And as certain old proverbs present themselves to our mind such as - "Ask & have" - "The world belongs to the bold," &c - I think the most straight forward way is to act upon them - & hence I write.' She proceeds to invite him to 'a little social gathering' ('not a party') at 'a very small house - which may be compared either to a nutshill or a bird's nest'. She realises that 'it is a long way but not so far as you may think. It is on the Kentish Town Hill that we live - & just above Millfield Lane.' She admits that there is no 'inducement' other than 'that of giving us a great pleasure'.
