1p., 12mo. Bifolium. In fair condition, lightly aged, with unobtrusive spike hole at centre. Addressed on second leaf to 'Henry Howard Esqr'. The letter reads: 'Sir | Not knowing the day that the works were to be removed from the Royal Academy I fear mine has remained inconveniently long - | Have the goodness to give the bearer my little figure of a girl trapping a bird - | No 1<2>90 -'. In the Royal Academy Exhibition catalogue, 1842: '1290 Unfinished figure in marble of a girl trapping a bird J. E. Carew'.
