The Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury | London'. Reads: 'Thirty days after sight of this my second of Exchange, (First not paid) please to pay to the Order of Messrs. James & Charles Bird, the Sum of One Thousand, Three Hundred Pounds Sterling, being for the Service of Government.' On reverse: 'Please to Pay to Claes Grill Esqr., or Order, Value in Account at the Exchange of Fifty four Pence three farthings Pr Dollar | Leghorn the 22d. Febry. 1796. | Jas. & Chas Bird'.
