Docketed and bearing the Society's stamp. 'On behalf of Sir Alfred Mond [Committee Chairman], I hasten to assure you and the Committee at the Royal Society of Arts that there is at present no intention on the part of H.M. Office of Works to acquire the Society's premises in John Street, Adelphi, for the purpose of the Air Ministry or any other Department, though I cannot, as you will I am sure understand, give any guarantee that the necessities of the War Departments may not at some future date cause a further acquisition of premises in the locality.'
