Four pages, 12mo, bifolium, small closed tear on fold, mainly good condition. "It has been represented to me that the Bill of which you have given notice for Tuesday the 8th is of a nature to affect the rights of the Crown in connexion with the Duchy of Lancaster. | I have consulted the speaker on the subject, & he thinks that from the title it appears to be a private bill, which must by introduced, and not upon motion - | Will you have the kindness to give me some information on the object of it." Note: although Ricardo took an active interest in the railways and telegraph, this probably refers to his initiatives for Free Trade, judging by other letters which came up in the same auctiion lot.
