[ Osman Ali Khan (1886-1967), Asaf Jah VII, Nizam of Hyderabad, 'the richest man in the world'. ] Autograph Signature ('Osman.'), as heir, on Secretarial Letter in English to Sir J. D. Rees, writing warmly to congratulate him on a book.

Osman Ali Khan (1886-1967), Asaf Jah VII, Nizam of Hyderabad, reputed to be the richest man in the world [ Sir John David Rees (1854-1922), colonial administrator and author ]
Publication details:
On letterhead of 'His Highness The Nizam's Government | Hyderabad Deccan', 15 March 1892.

3pp., 4to. Bifolium. In fair condition, on lightly aged paper, with traces of grey paper mount adhering to the blank reverse of the second leaf. The letter is signed 'Osman. Jah.', but in the whole letter only the word 'Osman.' and its underlining flourish, would appear to be in the future Nizam's handwriting, the rest having been written by an amanuensis. The book which is the subject of the letter is presumably Rees's 'Lord Connemara's Tours in India, 1886-1890', which had appeared earlier in 1892.
