Begins abruptly: 'The work referred to in my circulars as "Facts About Tornadoes" embraces in its discussion a period of nearly 90 years and a collection of over 600 storms. The copes of the "Scientific Roll" you so kindly sent me I am exceedingly obliged for. They present meteorological information in a fresh and interesting manner'. He is 'working day and night here in my field of labor, with regard to which I take the deepest interest.'
