[ Rev. Francis C. R. Jourdain, ornithologist. ] Offprints of the four parts of an article, annotated with manuscript field notes: 'Notes on the Ornithology of Corsica.'
81pp., 8vo. The four parts stitched together without covers. Paginated as follows. April 1911: 189-208. July 1911: 437-458. January 1912 : 63-82. April 1912 ('concluded'): [1] + 314-332. Worn and aged, with damp-staining, particularly to preliminary leaves, and first leaf tattered and detached. There are two sets of anonymous annotations in a contemporary hand throughout the four parts. The first set, in a neater hand, makes emendations to the text, including some of the Latin names of birds. The second set (apparently by the same party at a different date) is marginal, and comprises observations made on the spot. The latter set includes the annotations 'April 12th Ajaccio | Note seemed quicker than our species' call', 'Porto. Campo de l'Oro. Evisa.', 'Large flock seen from Monte Carlo April 8th 1929. Circling in opp. direction together' , 'Sandpiper w. Green rump seen by river between <?> & Corte', and 'Large swfts or martins seen Ponte Leccia'. Scarce: the only copy on COPAC at the Scottish Ornithologists' Club.
