Subjects: receipt of money for a parcel of autographs ("letters of Drs Dallinger & Woodward"); sending a King Edward ALS and a Phil May sketch of himself; the owner of "a pass signed by the present Prince of Wales during the War" wanting an offer; sending a bundle of theatrical autographs on approval, envying hiis correspondent's "Garrick" and offering to authenticate an "Alexander Pope"; asking for the price of a Harrison Ainsworth correspondence offered some time ago; receipt of payment for "the Sieveking papers; offering "the scrapbook of Geo. Aug. Sala - this contains some hundreds of letters ffom his friends", enclosing a "rough list"; a Henry Irving lot; discussing the value of a Bradshaw and his [Caddell's] offer of "a book of very delicate Chinese drawings; claim that prices given in a list were meant for an American, hence 15% discount possible; his correspondent having better luck buying at Sothebys than he does; enquiry concerning duplicates for sale; anticipation of receiving " some Darwin letters"; sending another bundle for Ludford to go through - circa 145 letters addressed to W. Davenport Adams("chiefly poets of the period"). The five-page list is of letters to W.Davenport Adams, correspondents including Matthew Arnold, Edmund Gosses, J.W. Cross (explained to be "Husband of 'Geo, Eliot'"), mainly run of the mill. Note: W.G.C. Ludford, of Fern Lea, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, Nr.
