"Not receiving yours till the evening I had it not in time to reply by return- I fear I must have you fill up the bill for 3[inderline] months - as claims from a supposition (a most hasty and distressing one, alas) that I am, in the common phrase money have pressed in upon me with a premature , has distressed me much & will do so, I assure you for some time to come & yet if two months will facilitate your present business and you can with certainty make use of my name to renew it again with sufficiently timely preparation - do as you like- I am obliged by your attention - but - you are too much a man of business not to know how difficulties can easily exist even with the the best prospects.--/ There will be two servants a man & his wife of the name of Jones in the way at my house - they have it in charge you may leave the money with them & instruct them to take the bill up at once when presented in the morning.- only pray take care it is met without any hitch or .-/ You may send me down the Copy of Percys[sic] reliques directed <"me" excised> for me here at the Theatre if it is a neat & perfect copy - & again thanking you I am ..."
