Two pages, 12mo, black-bordered, bifolium, very good condition. Presuambly an answer to a question about a naval incident in 1810, perhaps for a memoir or similar being prepared by Smyth which his death in 1865 pre-empted. Text: Captain Mundt of HMS Hydra commanded at Gibraltar which was then a Station of the Mediterranean Fleet in 1810, & the Gunboats were under his control. | I commanded a Gunboat in the Spring & Summer of that uear, but the range of our expedition was not large. When a French expedition[of troops?] came near, either [excised on the Coast] by the Coast from Algeciras on one side, or from the Mediterranean Coast [...]. See image of page 2.
