He apologises for late reply but has had an unprecedently busy period, with an awful number of dots to get on the paper against deadlines, but too many journeys overseas, taking up too much time! | I wish there were more people who had the courage to write music for their own school - & it's typical that it's, in your care, an art-design man & not a music specialist! If the 2 Fiddlers [?] in my way, then I'm very gratified. Since then I wrote an opera for primary children on the Cinderella story, but changed quite a lot so that it's pointed & funny, a short music-theatre piece for (young) primaries 'The Rainbow', & just now 'Songs of Hoy' for the school on this island, involving all the kids, who only have music instruction once a week, from a specialist who comes by boat from Stromness, weather permitting - quite a challenge. | Indeed I'd be very pleased to see a copy of the new opera. | Again, thank you for taking time & trouble to write.
