"Your note relating to the Terra Cotta Bust of your Good Father has just been brought under my notice, I should have been pleased to send for the Bust; but to my surprize and disgust the Earls Court people, after aksing me to send some of my sculp[ture nd putting me to the trouble and expense of collecting from my friends, neglected to send, but sent me instead an order for the varnishing [?] - adding insult to injury[.] I have no doubt the Bust of your father would be improved by cleaning, if so, I would do it without any charge to you - at any time you might like to send it to my studio. . . . ."
