One page, 12mo, formerly leaf in a bifolium but the second leaf has been roughly torn away (with small loss to first leaf not affecting main text), two closed tears not affecting text, clear but aged On the remnants of the second leaf someone has noted in pencil Medical Officer of board of health for City of London presumably identifying the recipient. Text: In answer to your note, I beg to inform you that the Commissioners of Sewers (to whom my report was addressed) printed it for distribution among the members of the Corporation exclusively.

The correspondence concerns the need to prevent a 'collision between the American and British authorities on the island' (the American General Harney is quoted as saying that 'he is satisfied that any attempt of the British Commander to ignore this right of the territory will be followed by deplorable results out of his power to control').
