John Carter (1748-1817), English architect and draughtsman 54 of John Carter's original engravings, from his own drawings, for his 'Views of Ancient Buildings in England' (1786-1793). All 54 are printed on paper 12 x 9 cm. Each is captioned and numbered in roman numerals, with the first as III and the last as XCVII. All nine items with accompanying contemporary typewritten translations by W. A. Green. Seven scarce examples of English Second World War propaganda, six aimed at Germany and the last at France.
