One page, 12mo (ish), poor condition, some reinforcement of edges, text by an eccentric typewriter faint but readable, minor corrections by Mannin's pen. I didn't know VENETIAN BLINDS was out of print. I will ask Jarrolds about this. Most of my books were blitzed in 1940 and the typed [Typescripts?] competely destrpoyed. I am getting them reprinted gradually, but had evidently overlooked V.B. | I too think RED ROSE is a good picture of poor old Emma - in fact I know[underlined] it is. But in my own view my last novel THE DARK FOREST is my best book, and I don't think I shall do better. Since you have done me the honour of reading my other books, or some of them, perhaps I may without seeming to be self-boosting, hope you will read this one.~75~WOMAN FEMALE NOVELIST AUTOGRAPH~ ~0~OL33~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 9695~16/08/2010~False~Henry Gibbons, M.D.~[Pamphlet] Tobacco. Both photograph and signature feature beneath the same mount, with the photograph, within a square c. 22 x 17, in black and white, showing the bespectacled Pope, shot from the knees upwards in light robes against a dark background, offering a blessing with his right hand directly to the camera. The photograph was slightly creased before mounting, but this is not overly apparent. Beneath the photograph, on lightly-foxed paper, within a rectangle c. 5.5 x 14 cm, is the bold, firm, attractive signature, c. 4 x 8 cm, reading 'Pius pp. XI', to the left of the blind-stamped seal of the Vatican, c. 5 cm in diameter. Image provided blurred perhaps because the phot is under glass. In reality it's not blurred.~125~PHOTOGRAPH THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH HIS HOLINESS POPE PIUS XI AMBROGLIO DAMIANO ACHILLE RATTI CHRISTIANITY RELICS PAPAL PAPACY THE VATICAN~~0~Above burke's~~~0~~ 9722~19/08/2010~False~House of Commons Select Committee on the Hudson's Bay Company, 1857 [Indian Territory, Canada]~[Printed volume relating to the Indian Territory] Report from the Select Committee on the Hudson's Bay Company; together with the Proceedings of the Committee, Minutes of Evidence, Appendix and Index.
