He begins by reminding him that he has 'generally announced to your Lordship, my intentions of standing for the County as soon as my canvass had begun'. He finds 'on the present occasion all the Dissenters most rabid against me for having fought the battle of Church Rates, Tythes & the necessity of a national Church, against Mr , Fox & Sir J. Trelawny'.
