1p., 4to. Bifolium. Addressed on reverse of second leaf, with broken wax seal and two postmarks (one from Richmond), to 'Wm. Crowdy Esqr. | 43 Upper Gower St | Bedford Square'. In good condition, lightly aged, with a few calculations (presumably by the recipient) at the head of the page. Having received a letter from his son informing him that '50 Shares of the Wilts & Berks Canal are to be sold by Messrs. Wells - Brokers at 5. 5. a share', he expresses a desire 'to take them at that price'.
