1p., 8vo. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. 'Mr. H. Clarence Whaite has held Art classes at Queen's College since Janary, 1934. [...] He has been most successful in encouraging the students to do individual work and the results have been excellent. | It has been of the greatest value to the College to have a visiting teacher who could bring such freshness and originality to the Art lessons and who, at the same time, took a keen interest in other subjects and in the general welfare of the students.' From the Whaite papers. Whaite was first cousin twice removed of his more famous namesake. He was himself an excellent artist and teacher, and there is a large collection of his work at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester.
