Both items are 2pp. 12mo, on bifoliums. Both in good condition, on lightly-aged paper. ONE: 'I was so sorry I couldn't come this afternoon - especially if he was a simple kind of American publisher. Owing to a rash fit of indulgence in Church going I had to have tea elsewhere'. TWO: Letter of condolence on the death of Robert Lynd. 'This dreadful news only came to me late last night - it is hard to think of it or believe it [...] You were both so kind to me on so many occasions, and I have not spent happier hours than so often in your house: Robert was a very wonderful man, and his great gifts have not been everywhere properly appreciated - his tolerance charm and humour so unfailing'.
