It is not printed [underlined] but only 'in progress' [underlined] (See inclosed print of council's report in March last) I h[ave] examd the Whalleu Coucher Book & find noting; & I inclose what I cd glean f[o]m Dugdale's Monasticon, translating the Grant, but copying the entries in the Valor & Compotus. I don't know the Editor o[f] [the] Chartulary, Rev Wm Hadfield - perhaps if you can learn hus address as a bro]ther] clerical no less tha antiqu[aria]n he mi[gh]t send you what you want. It is likely I shall bring my children to Blackpool in the Midsumr Holidays; but I want to know what sort o[f] cha[racte]r the Royal Edw[ar]d now bears [...]. Presumably an article for Transactions of the Historic Society of Lancashire and Cheshire (An Account of Mains Hall perhaps).
