Johnson has been 'for several years & down to the time of the new Commission o[f] peace the only acting Justice in the Isle', and expects 'some Regard' to be paid to his recommendation. He will 'give the Court some reasons which incline me to think that Mr. Gibbison ought to be preferr'd to his Competitor Mr. Gervas'.
