INSCRIBED on reverse of hf-title: To Charles Hastings Esqre | as a mark of esteem, | and with every good wish, | from | The Author." The autrhor has added two corrections to be made, some of which is lost by trimming. Charles Hastings, a fellow-student of the author, was destined for a distinguished career, including being one of the founders of the British Medical Association

M'Kinnal became a ship's surgeon, and contributed to Boyle's, "A Practical Medico-Historical Account of the Western Coast of Africa ..." as well as articles, subjects including yellow fever and black vomit.

Offprint, 8pp, 8vo, sewn as issued, rust mark from paperclip on last page, mainly good condition. The author has added "With compliments" to the top of the first (cover) page, and changed some things. On p.[1] he excises "Jacone" and adds "Cerruti" in the margin. He has also made changes to the Table ("Var.II" is expanded to "B.ceylonensis B, and all the "AGs" are corrected to "AC"
