Four pages, 4to, not bound as issued, fold marks, minor folds at top edge, good to very good. With a list of the Committee, the text of a letter from the subscribers to the Lord Bishop of Ripon; the text of his reply (Dodgson's "high principles", etc); the text of the subscribers letter to Dodgson (planning a commemorative stained glass window in his honour in a "Chapel attached to Ripon Palace"; the text of his lengthy reply, honoured by their compliments, ambitions for his office, and pride in the "permanent connection" they are establishing between him and a place of such importance to him (Ripon Palace). It concludes with a brief "Description of the Dodgson Window". The only other copy of this item is at Harvard (see WorldCat), and it's this Harvard copy that Charlie Lovett has listed (no.615) in his "Lewis Carroll among his Books". This copy derives from the Family Papers of Richard Harington, who was C.L. Dodgson's friend at Christ Church, Oxford.
