From the papers of Major Reginald Kersey Green and his son the nuclear physicist Robert Kersey Green. The magazines are mostly in 4to, and the advertisements mostly in 12mo. Printed in a variety of styles on a range of different coloured papers, with illustrations and photographs. In good condition, on aged paper, except for one heavily-stained item, and another with light staining to back wrap. Comprising: ONE. 'The Weleda Journal' ('Gratis to all interested in the Weleda'), No. 1, September 1938. Including the unattributed articles: 'The Development of the Weleda' and 'Short Survey of Weleda Products'. TWO. Eleven issues of 'Weleda News' ('Published by The British Weleda Co. Ltd. Fladbury, Pershore, Worcs.') between June 1951 to Christmas 1958. Nos. 6, 7, 9, 10, 14-20. Containing a range of articles, including (in issue 19 for December 1957) 'The story of the British Weleda and its new home' by Gordon Green. THREE. Twelve handbill advertisements, all undated. The headings read: 'Weleda preparations. Price List', 'Weleda Birch Elixir', 'Gencydo', 'Weleda Toilet Preparations', 'Dystempo, A Prompt and Certain treatment for Dog's Distemper', 'Weleda Clairo Tea', 'Weleda Christmas Gifts', 'Weleda Winter Remidies', 'Weleda Rosemary Toilet Preparations', 'Announcing Balsamicum, a new Weleda Product'. FOUR. Statement of account on company letterhead. 1p., 4to, printed in red. Made out to 'R. Kersey Green', and dated 12 April 1940. FIVE. Mimeographed typed circular, dated February 1964, 'Wala Information Sheet' of the same date, and handbill advertisement for 'Wala Elixirs'. The British Weleda Co. Ltd opened in London in March 1925 as an importing company of the natural medicines of Steiner and Wegman; it now operates from Ilkeston, Derbyshire.
