1p., 8vo. In good condition, with tax stamp on reverse. The addresses of the two men are given as 'enclos du Temple' for Laurent and 'Rue de Tournon No. 4' for Audouin. Audouin undertakes to engrave, with 'tous mes soins pour y mettre toute La perfection', 'un dessein fais d'après Le Tableau de Terburg du Cabinet du Roi, Representans un Riche financier qui offre de L'ord [sic] a une jeune femme'. For his part Laurent agrees to pay Audouin 'La Somme de deux mille deux cens [sic] Livre'. The painting, by Dutch artist Gerard ter Borch, is generally known in English as 'Man offering a Woman Coins' and is still in the Louvre.
