On aged paper in worn binding, with front board detached with first seven leaves. No letterpress, apart from title and alphabetical index. Apparently published in England under the title 'A Collection of three hundred Autograph Letters of Celebrated Individuals of all Nations, from the sixteenth to the nineteenth century. [...]'. COPAC only lists a copy at Aberdeen. A useful collection, casting light on nineteenth century ideas of celebrity, and featuring individuals from John Adams to Winckelmann and Young, taking in Varnbuehler, Paoli, Napoleon and Lacombe St. Michel along the way.
