(1887) Blackwoods had forwarded his correspondent's request to quote some passages from the works of George Eliot in a book of "Readings" [perhaps" What to read at winter entertainments ... Edited and arranged by ... F. L" (1888)]. He gives his permission for this. (1888) He has received a full explanation of something and says he will fill in the requisite form (for permitting reprinting).
