179pp., foolscap 8vo, and contains 332 general orders by 'W. H. Poyntz | Major and Chief Constable'. The volume is entirely in manuscript, but is not in Poyntz's handwriting. It comprises 168 paginated pages, followed by an eleven-page index giving a one-line summary of the 'Purport' of each order. The volume is a ruled notebook, in original quarter binding of black cloth spine and marbled boards, with the words 'GENERAL ORDERS' printed on a label on the cover, with 'Rochford' written in manuscript beneath.

116pp., 4to. (Paginated to 117, without a p.95, but with no text lacking.) No prelims. Each page typed on a separate leaf, and the whole bound together by string through punch holes. Text complete. Dog-eard and worn, with the first two leaves separated from the rest. No record discovered of author or title. The play is set during the Second World War, and begins: 'Afternoon fourclock ... Late spring ... side of road, North Cork district six miles from town of Kilneesh, Irishman trying to fix a tire ... car protruding from wings showing a flat.

Two pages, 3 x 8", sl. soiled buy mainly good condition. He encloses "the precepts [not present] which he had printed at "Pratts" [printer] and in which he made a correction. He also encloses [PRESENT] "notices to be given by the respective constables to the Innkeepers and labelled then for the different townships soo that you will only have to enclose them inside your precepts to the constables of the townships as laabelled . . . The jury lists will leave to be delivered as stated in the cards . . .
