Acknowledging the receipt of Cookman's letters, with enclosures, 'offering yourself as a Candidate for the Post of [Resident Magistrate]'. TWO: Addressed to 'J. G. Cookman Esq | 112 Pembroke Road | Dublin'. 'I am directed by the Lord Lieutenant [altered in manuscript to 'Lords Justices'] to acknowledge the Receipt of your Letter of the [4th Instant, and to return herewith the Musketry Certificate which accompanied your application for the post of Resident Magistrate.'
