The six items are in excellent condition, on lightly-aged paper. None of the forms have been filled in. From the Board of Education Reference Library, but with no indications of the fact. ONE: An 'enlarged copy of the front of the Occupier's Schedule' (so described in Item Five below), headed 'CENSUS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, 1911.' Printed in March 1911 by Eyre & Spottiswoode ('3/11. E. & S.'), on one side of a piece of 68 x 86 cm. paper. Arranged in sixteen columns (Name and Surname; Relationship to Head of Family; and so on), a seventeenth column has been added in the margin, by the laying down of a printed strip reading: 'LANGUAGE SPOKEN. | (1) If able to speak English only, write "English." | (2) If able to speak Welsh only, write "Welsh." | (3) If able to speak English and Welsh, write "Both." | No entry to be made in this column for children under three years of age. | 17.' TWO: 'Census of England and Wales, 1911. | Schedule. | [Welsh Schedule.]' Printed on both sides of a piece of 31 x 52 cm. paper. On one side of the leaf is a scaled down version of Item One, with all 17 columns printed out; on the other side are: a 'Notice' by Bernard Mallet, Registrar-General, and John Burns, President; a set of 'Instructions | For filling in the Columns headed "Profession or Occupation."; and a table of 'Examples of the Mode of filling up the Schedule'. THREE: Set of 'Explanatory Notes on the Occupiers' Schedule for the use of School Teachers.' 2pp., foolscap 8vo. Divided into ten sections, beginning with 'Objects of the Census' and ending with 'Number of Rooms in each Dwelling or Tenement'. FOUR: 'Circular to Governing Bodies of Secondary Schools in Wales. | Census, 1911.' With facsimile signature of Alfred T. Davies, Welsh Department, Board of Education, Whitehall. 2pp., foolscap 8vo. The address, 'To the Local Education Authority', has been crossed out. FIVE: 'Memorandum as to Instructions upon the Census'. Again with facsimile signature of Alfred T. Davies, Welsh Department, Board of Education, Whitehall. Dated March 1911. 2pp., foolscap 8vo. SIX: 'Urgent and Important' notice by Alfred T. Davies, Permanent Secretary, Welsh Department, Board of Education, Whitehall. Headed 'Census, 1911' and with 'Wales' in the top right-hand corner. Printed in red on one side of a piece of 18 x 22 cm. paper. Providing a translation into Welsh of column 17 (see Item One), with the following note: 'In the edition of the Census Paper printed in the Welsh language and to be distributed, by the Census Authorities, in certain Welsh-speaking districts, the enquiry contained in that Column will appear in the terms indicated below.'
