Autograph Letter Signed to Martin Cawood.
Antiquary and critic (1789-1864), editor of the 'Athenaeum'. Cawood was a musician and composer. Two pages, 12mo. Black bordered. Verso of second leaf of bifoliate laid down onto larger piece of docketed grey paper. In good condition apart from some glue damage to right-hand margin of recto of first leaf (not affecting text). Difficult handwriting. 'I am much obliged to you for the "Notes on the Woollen Hair" which I have just found. | Do you suppose it is possible to obtain any - 2 - 3 - or 4 of the papers issued by you, as it is I am afraid we have not a fourth part, either in my collection that of the or the British Museum collection. | I have written to Mess Baines asking them to send me a copy of the pamphlet they appear to have printed in 1850 & any thing else they may know of'.
