12mo, 4 pp. Bifolium. Good, on lightly-aged paper. Addressed to close relation or agent. He agrees to 'the two sales in Sheffield of £52,000 and £90,000', but does not consider 'under £200 an acre' a good price. He wonders 'whether Sandford is inclined to give a bit to get a deal through without much trouble'. He does not find the council in the area 'generous', but 'Sandford has a great friend whom he plays golf with every Sunday and I believe he is the City Surveyor or some such person!' He approves another sale of £2,400 and is strongly in favour of 'buying Dudley's House' if he can get it for £30,000 'with the carpets etc'. He does not want his wife Lavinia 'bothered with house hunting and she likes the house'. Ends: 'Fair sport up here but going awful heavy.'
