Autograph Note in third person by John Balsir Chatterton, harpist to Queen Victoria, to Henry G. Times.
1p., 12mo. On bifolium with mourning border. With mourning envelope addressed by Chatterton to the surgeon 'Henry G. Times Esqre. | Manchester Street | Manchester Square'. Fair, on lightly-aged paper, in aged envelope. The note reads: 'With Balsir Chattertons [sic] best thanks. | Sunday | 32 Manchester Street | Manchester Square'. On Balsir Chatterton's death The Times (17 April 1871) reprinted a report from the Athenaeum, stating that he was 'one of the directors of the Philharmonic Society for many years; he was also one of the teachers at the Royal Academy of Music; he was not such a showy player as Bochsa or Parish Alvars, but he was a sound musician, and was highly respected in the profession both personally and artistically'.
