The first page is headed: 'At a Meeting of Several Friends | to the | British and Foreign Bible Society, | Held at St. Peter's Parsonage, Ipswich, | October 5th, 1812, | The Rev. Edward Griffin, in the Chair, | It was resolved, | [...]'. Eight resolutions in small print follow, covering the whole of the first page. The middle two pages carry the 'Address', beginning: 'The object of this Bible Association is to lend a helping hand to the good work that was begun last year in this town, by the formation of the Suffolk Auxiliary Bible Society, which has since stretched forth its arms in various Branch Bible Societies and Bible Associations, all concurring with the British and Foreign Bible Society, in London, whose beneficial and important design is to circulate the Holy Scriptures without note or comment, both at home and abroad.'
