Full title: 'A Catalogue of Engravings, by the most esteemed Artists, after The finest Pictures and Drawings of the Schools of Europe; Systematically arranged under the painters, and by Index to the Subjects: Accompanied by a List of Works in Progress, or recently completed: And also of various Books of Prints, Forming part of the stock of Moon, Boys, and Graves, Printsellers to His Majesty, And Publishers of Works of Art. No. 6, Pall-Mall.' viii + 214pp., 8vo. In original quarter-binding of grey printed boards and black leather spine. Internally in good condition, on aged paper; but loose, in detached heavily-worn boards, with leather spine largely worn away. Attractive and well-preserved sepia bookplate of F. B. Daniell & Son, with the firm's details ('F. B. DANIELL | & SON. | Fine Old Engravings | 32, CRANBOURN ST | LONDON, W.C.') surrounded by a cherub, lyre-player and maiden with wreath, depicted in the style of Richard Cosway. Presumably part of the F. B. Daniell & Son reference library. The catalogue does not contain prices, the firm's four-page preface explaining that its purpose is rather 'to unite with the easiest mode of reference, the best and most desirable information as to the particulars of the respective plates and works therein contained'. A meticulous production, with a number of indices. Seven copies recorded on COPAC, but now extremely scarce.
