Both items in good condition, lightly aged. The autograph receipt is on a slip of paper attached to the invoice with sealing wax. The invoice is docketed: 'For Par Re: Richd Clarke | 1825 | Sepr. 13th. | Mr Lupton Rolfe Bill for Books | £2 13 6 | No 13 Cornhill London'. ONE: Invoice. 1p., 12mo. Handsome letterhead for items 'Bought of Lupton Relfe | (From J. Hatchard's Son's [sic]) | Bookseller, Publisher & Stationer. | No. 13, Cornhill | Merchants, Captains, Book Societies & Schools supplied on liberal Termes | Periodical Publications, books neatly & elegantly bound.' Itemised bill for 'Mr Clarke', containing six items totalling £2 13s 6d, and including 'Simsons Euclid 12mo', 'Popes Odyssey 2 Vols' and 'East India Register'. TWO: Receipt, reading: 'Received Sepr 13. 1825 of Mr Clarke Two Pounds 13/6 for Books as Pr Bill | Lupton Relfe | 13 Cornhill'. There is no entry for Relfe in BBTI. The British Museum Department of Prints and Drawings has him commissioning three prints at his Cornhill address between 1822 and 1828, and notes a possible connection with the firm of Relfe & Fletcher.
