In fair condition, on lightly-aged paper, with slight wear to photographs and wear to the two loose leaves. Efficiently records dates and times of voyages, together with other relevant details. First six pages consist of the 'LOG OF THE MIGGO II', an 'Outdoor Cabin Cruiser | Built by Dauntless Coy Feb-Apl Leigh-on-Sea 1930. Launched April. Engine - Elto Quad 1929 model'. There is a photograph of a woman captioned 'The mate & Cabin boy', elsewhere identified as the author ('Mate me'), and probably Jones's wife. The boat was built for Jones, and the log begins with two trial runs round Leigh on Sea, and ends with its sale 'to Thorntons of Isleworth'. The next forty-seven pages carry the 'LOG OF VERONIQUE [corrected from 'MIGGO III']'. This ten-ton cutter was purchased in February 1932, 'Built by F. Luce in France 1900. Laid down is a Typed Letter Signed (4to, 1 p) by the assistant secretary of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, 13 August 1934, congratulating Jones on winning first prize in the Cowes/Weymouth Coastwise Race, 11 August 1934. Also laid down is printed card bifolium (8vo, 3 pp) giving 'Sailing Instructions' for the race. The 'Veronique was sold in April 1935, and the next seventeen pages carry the 'LOG OF SYLVIA. May 1st 1935.', a 'yawl 29 ft L.W.L. 43 ft. overall. Built and designed by Fyffe 1902. She has no engine, a 55 ft Mainmast and 17 ft. mizzen. [...] She was purchased by M. Clackson at Falmouth and fitted out at Moody's Yard on the Hamble'. Tipped in are 'Time Allowances' and a telegram relating to a 'Maas Race - 257 Miles'. Also a mimeographed page relating to the 'Crouch Yacht Club'. The author has written out pages on 'Sylvia's 1935 Racing Record' and 'Work and Alterations done to Sylvia 1935-1936'. Loosely inserted is a card (8vo, 2 pp) giving sailing instructions for the '20th Annual Race for Cruising Yards', Crouch Yacht Club. Also a Typed Letter Signed (8vo, 1 p) by B. Bengie, Honorary Secretary, Island Sailing Club, Cowes, 24 September 1936, giving the 'correct results of the race to Poole on Sept. 5th'. (Sylvia, second); and a card bifolium (8vo, 8pp) for Cowes Week Regattas, 1937. Six pages of itemised accounts at rear, giving details of firms and 'Job done'.
