It carries the price (one shilling), title, publication details, and a portrait of Brierley, and is headed 'AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH', The volume contains no library markings whatsoever, but the front pastedown carries a pink printed notice of the 'Rules of the Library' of the Bury District Co-operative Society Ltd. Ownership details on front free endpaper: 'George Whitehouse, | Bridge House, | Aberford, | Given by Mrs. T. Ward | 1905.' Pp.90-99 carry eight 'In Memoriam Poems', by John L. Owen of Bowdon, William Charlton of Hulme, Jennie Heywood of Rochdale, J. Gee ('Superintendent of Police') of Manchester, Charles C. Hall and Brierley himself. Now scarce. Five copies on COPAC, variously dated to 1886 and 1887.
