2pp., 12mo. On bifolium. In fair condition, lightly aged, with minor damage in margin at the gutter of the second leaf caused by removal from stub. Addressed to 'Sir Edwin Landseer RA | &c &c'. A week from the writing of the letter Frith is expecting 'a few artists & others to tea-supper smoke-whist &c'. He explains that the group usually meets 'about eight supper at ten or half past. We should all be pleased if you can be induced to give us the pleasure of your company. You will meet your brother Cartwright, Fechter, & others all known to you.' Frith's wife asks him to tell Landseer that she 'greatly desires' his autograph, which he hopes Landseer will 'favor her with in the shape of a favourable reply to this'. The letter ends: 'No ladies - & consequently any costume on Thursday.' Accompanying the letter is a steel engraving of a portrait of a seated 'W. P. Frith, R.A.' Paper size 26.5 x 16.5 cm. Dimensions of plate 15.5 x 12.25 cm. In good condition, lightly spotted.
