Six colour photographic prints, each 8.5 x 12.5 cm, four matt and two glossy. The indicates that these photographs were not the work of a professional, and the relaxed attitude of all present suggests that they were meant as a souvenir. Highly unlikely to have been published. The six show a cheerful Hussein, in suit and tie, posing with various staff: three older women in white uniforms (cooks or cleaners?), with one of whom he shakes hands in one picture, another woman in pink, one in orange, another in grey (housekeeper), two men in black trousers and white blazers (butlers?), a formal and distinguished looking Englishman who could be a visitor. A young policeman in shirtsleeves is present in another photograph. None of the photographs is captioned. While they may date from Hussein's state visit of 19 to 28 July 1966, Hussein had a country house at Ascot, and the pictures may have been taken there at any time. The feel of the pictures (a policeman has a walkie-talkie strapped to his belt) indicate the 1970s.
