Folded twice for postage, and accompanied by envelope with stamps and 1950 Edinburgh postmark, addressed by her to ‘Adam Dickson Esq. Junior / 28 Comely Bank Grove | Edinburgh’. Signed ‘Winifred Peck’. Responding to an autograph hunter, she writes: ‘Dear Sir, / How kind of you to like to [sic] my books & to say so. I am enclosing an autograph on sticky paper as this saves trouble doesn’t it?’ She continues in depressing style: ‘I always tell my husband that no-one under 80 probably likes my books & they will all die out, so you see how nice, apparently, from your address, to find an exception!’
