14pp., 12mo. Stapled pamphlet. In good condition, lightly aged and with a little rust spotting. At head of title, in unobtrusive contemporary hand: '29 Read 8 March 1904'. The author is not named, but is Gillett, who had authored the first of his pamphlets under the name 'W. G.' Introduction, dated 16 December 1903, states that the author's two previous pamphlets were 'well received, over two hundred and fifty thousand copies of the latter having been printed. | These Pamphlets were favourably reviewed in a large number of Newspapers, and many Members of Parliament wrote expressing their approval of the suggestions made. | The subject, however, at that time was hardly ripe for practical politics, but now there seems to be no doubt that every phase of the question will be thoroughly discussed. | In the two Pamphlets alluded to, detailed Proposals for a Tariff Bill were made, and as these Proposals still appear to the writer likely to meet with a large amount of support from the Electors, he has been induced to reprint them.' Scarce: the only two copies on OCLC WorldCat at the LSE and the Albert Sloman Library in the University of Essex.
