Impressively printed in black on one side of a 58 x 43 cm sheet. In fair condition, aged and worn, with slight loss to the edge on one side, and light creasing. Impressively laid out in copperplate, beneath the College's coat of arms. The signatures are arranged in two columns, with the first two bracketted as 'Vice Presidents': '[left-hand column] J. W. The text reads, with manuscript additions in square brackets: 'We, The College of Examiners of | The Royal College of Surgeons of England, | have examined | [Oliver Sunderland] | and find him to be duly qualified in the Science and Art of Surgery | Dated this [seventeenth] day of [July] 18[88] | [the ten signatures in two columns follow] | We, | The Royal College of Surgeons of England | do hereby issue these our Letters Testimonial that the said | [Oliver Sunderland] | is qualified to practise Surgery, and we do hereby admit him a Member of the College | Given under our Common Seal this [2nd] day of [August] 18[88]'.
