At the time of writing Long was President of the Local Government Board. 2pp., 12mo. Bifolium. Unusual government letterhead with mourning border for death of King Edward VII. In fair condition, lightly aged and worn, with pin holes at top left. The letter is addressed to 'My dear Walter', and is 'on the subject of inspection under the Food and Drugs Acts'. Chamberlain announces that 'we are now very nearly agreed, and it is a pity that we should not be wholly so'.
