All coloured in watercolour. The seven folio portraits are: Napoleon as First Consul; Talma; Eugene; Moustache ('Mr. Lyn Harding [(1867-1952)]'); two 'Flunkies'; and Austrian Ambassador ('Mr Spencer Trevor [(1875-1945)]'). The four portrait 8vo illustrations consist of: two of Larose ('Lady Tree [Lady Helen Beerbohm Tree (1858-1937)]'); Louise ('Miss Lemand') and the overcoat of Talma ('Mr. Grossmith [George Grossmith Jnr(1874-1935)]'). The last leaf, in landscape 8vo, carries two busts of Robespierre ('Mr. Jeayes [Allan Jeayes (1885-1963)]'), with emphasis on his neckcloth, and a number of measurements and notes. Accompanying the items is the front board of the costume designer's folder, with a white label reading ' "JOSEPHINE." | HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE | (1934)'. Each illustration is numbered (for example 'SK-J-11' and 'SK. 2').
