3pp, 12mo. Bifolium. With the cover of the letter's envelope, addressed to H. A. Bright at Trinity Collrge, Cambridge. Both letter and cover in fair condition, lightly aged and worn. In response to Bright's 'Letter to Mr Collier on the subject of the Camden Society', Thoms writes that it is 'a matter of great regret' to Thoms personally 'that Mr Kemble's prolonged absence on the Continent has prevented his completion of the Vercelli Poetry until which time no steps can be taken for winding up the affairs of the Aelfric Society and seeing what arrangement can be made for repaying some portion of the Compositions'. He discusses the 'claim of the printer' and 'the Aelfric subscribers', and lists the volumes Bright should have received. He ends by referring Bright to his friend 'Mr Campion of Queens who has just undertaken the Office of Local Secretary'.
