See his entry in the Oxford DNB. The three items are laid down on a leaf from an album, the letter on one side and the other two items on the other. The material is in good condition, lightly aged, with the letter slightly ruckled. LETTER: 1p, 12mo. Letterhead printed in red. Beneath the letter, on the album leaf, in a contemporary hand: ‘In reply to my congratulatory note upon his being made a baronet.’ Addressed to ‘Charles Klugh Esqr’ and signed ‘James Paget’. Reads: ‘My dear Mr. Klugh / By mistake, your note was not sent to me at Lucerne, and I have only lately received it. But let me even now, thank you for your kind congratulations & good wishes. I thank you for them heartily’. CARD: Printed on 11.5 x 9 cm piece of grey card. With thick mourning border. Reads: ‘Sir James Paget & Miss Paget / thank you sincerely / for your sympathy & kindness.’ At bottom left: ‘5, Park Square West’; and at bottom right ‘April 1895.’ NEWSPAPER CUTTING: 20 cm long column of seventy-fige lines of small print. Title: ‘FUNERAL OF SIR JAMES PAGET’. In contemporary hand on album leaf: ‘Times 5th. Jan. 1900.’ Begins: ‘The funeral of Sir James Paget took place yesterday at East Finchley Cemetery. The first part of the service was held at Westminster Abbey, and it was attended by many members of the medical profession’.
