He thanks him for publishing it in the Archaeological Journal, ‘where it occupies a public & as it were official position of authority. / God bless you’.

Folded once for postage. The recipient is not named, but is clearly the secretary of the Religious Truth Society (who appear to have published the MS referred to in the letter as ‘The Sweet Story of Old’ (see Lomax). Signed ‘Hesba Stretton’. ‘Dear Sir, / I forward by this post my promised M.
